Aqsa-parvez-fb-071211_inline

Aqsa Parvez was found in her Longhorn Trail home on Monday morning without any vital signs.

Paramedics revived her and took her to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, where she died late Monday night.

Police said they received a call from a man who said he’d just killed his daughter.

The victim’s father, Muhammad Parvez, 57, was arrested at the scene. He will appear in court on Tuesday and face murder charges.

Aqsa Parvez’s friends told CBC News that the teen had been having arguments with her father because he allegedly wanted her to wear a traditional hijab.

----- Of course the Canadian Islamic Congress and other Canadian Islamic institutions were to quick to respond by saying “this is not about the hijab… it is about teenagers being teenagers”... said Mohammad Elmasry…the head of the Canadian Islamic Congress the same man who said that Saudi Arabia is to be emulated by all Islamic countries

It is sickening that this so-called father would do such a thing in the name of religion….look at her beautiful face, so full of promise – Mohammed would be ashamed I am sure – was he not a proponent of peace and love?

Let us leave mohammad out of this..shall we. A proponent of peace and love? The problem is that people think that there is one Islam…there isn’t…there are Islam’s. The question is, what is a religion? is it what is practiced or what is preached. When Mohammad was in Mecca (the first part of the Qur’an) his declarations were a threat to the hierarchical system in Arabia. However, when he gained strength and followers and moved to Medina (the second part of the Qur’an) his declarations take on that of a statesman; this is where you will find most of the sharia laws and writings about women etc. A proponent of peace and love? No! A prophet? Yes! Islam means submission to the will of God and how you interpret that depends on one’s own hermeneutical process.
