Some parts of the world with so much flora and fauna never cease to amaze. And there are awesome organizations like Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy which are doing phenomenal work in collaboration with governements, ngos and businesses to protect particularly sensitive areas.

I have a particular fondness for the mountains of Southwest China, in Yunnan province, where I lived for a year. Both organizations I mentioned are active there. Nature Conservancy has set up a number of protected areas and fostered ecotourism and other incentives for protecting the wildlife… http://www.nature.org/wherewework/asiapacific/china/
