Ah the World Economic Forum, where capitalists come together to make the world a better place ... for capitalism. I wonder how many antitrust suits the companies those CEOs represent have between them… Over the past few decades the wealth disparity has increased, poverty has increased and the super wealthy have increased. Interestingly, foreign aid has also increased. Capitalism is a pyramid scheme, you have to have wage-slaves at the bottom to keep the whole thing running, and they have to believe that by-golly if you work hard enough you too can be at the top. But it’s all more or less a game of probabilities. Yes, capitalism has given us 50 brands of toothpaste to choose from, but is that worth the indescribable poverty half the word faces. Is that worth a majority of people who slave for generations and because they don’t play the game just right have faltered accounts, and stressed depressed existences. People say the current system is like a foot race where some people start midway through the course at the gunshot, so the answer is to level the playing field. But would that solve much, when the loser of the race is doomed to starvation and misery…? Looks like we’ve got to change the rues a little bit. |
