I joined Rethos because of a fortuitous taxi ride with the founder, in NYC, over a year ago. I'm engaged in the corporate sustainability field, though I don't necessarily believe that the answers we're seeking are best found through large corporations - instead, I'm increasingly taken with the go-local movement. While my topical focus is on how business impacts environmental and social issues, my actual jobs vary. Right now, I'm doing some consulting (for Sustainable Business Strategies), some writing (I have a book project going on), and some news analysis (a weekly CSR news brief for the BC Center for Corporate Citizenship). In the future, I'd like to work toward a PhD at an international university, probably in Europe, and use that to focus on sustainability issues at a big-picture level. In the smaller picture, I'd also like to find more ways to integrate my work and my day-to-day happiness - through community, international engagement, personal passions, and work that I love every day.
