I am first and foremost a spiritual artist, devoted to clearing planetary karma and revealing soul purpose through painting. I was earning my teaching degree in the amazing State of Vermont where humanity is still alive and kicking. My goal was to make that degree transcendentally meaningful through the creation of a charter school dedicated to the global nomads: "licensing" teachers without borders or boundaries and teaching children the real needs of life.
That vision is still alive and well in my activism, and taking shape in unexpected ways for future manifestation. Recently I had expressed that I did not know where I was being led re: a formal "career", but various powerful instruments of guidance have led me to transfer to the unique and socially potent curriculum at Burlington College. By entering their Individualized Degree Program, I can integrate these disciplines to create a "career" that is meaningful to me: Graphic and Fine Arts, Legal/Justice Studies, and Human Services. With these varied subjects combined, I will work towards a goal long buried in my deep passion for social change. The degree I have created is called "Creative Approaches Towards Justice". I want to have a channel for my advocacy, and here is the way for me to achieve that. More than that, however, I want to teach others how to - and facilitate the channels for others to - use the arts as a means of actuating social transformation.

The values that we could choose to live by: love and brutal authenticity, need be expressed. Something creative and potent and without boundaries is what we need more of in the world, and Rethos resonates with the same vision - giving people a forum to participate in the media, not just be spoonfed its rotting waste! Giving people a way to shape their world, not just be passive spectators of it.

I see art as a means of revealing a larger Truth than what we tend to experience in the everyday. We are only as honest as our willingness to have revealed to us our deepest motivations and meanings. Art is the universal language: music, painting, sculpting, filmaking, dancing. storytelling... These media are the pathways into the mythic, into the transcendental, into the heart of what it means to be human and sharing an existence with other humans. When we encourage artistic expression, we give a gift of untold proportions. When we use that gift ourselves, we are placing into the fabric of the shared experience called Life a small permanent fragment of that Truth. Incorporating this firm belief into various media so as to be a guide for others is a cornerstone of my purpose here.

My life is near complete with my vast sanga and being immersed in the task of raising my delightful daughter, Aluna. It would be fulfilled with the realization of huge populations of Beings waking up to the truth of why we are here... building compassionately the communal infrastucture and tearing down all others! And, oh yeah.... by the way... where is my yurt?!
