Earlier this year, former employees of MBNA and Bank of 
America contacted AFFIL looking for a way to speak out about 
disturbing sales practices they were trained to use as employees. Their stories confirm what
we've long suspected: that credit card companies extend credit
to those who can't afford it, and engage in a "tricks and traps" 
business model designed to max out cardholders and keep

This is a crucial debate and a difficult one to get to the bottom of. Biodiesel is renewable and less poluting in its use, but production is a major issue – particularly where rain forest is cleared for the growing of crops. I run a non-profit in Belfast and we’re about to put a video production vehicle on the road to support teams of young people to do films in their communities. The link is informative, Sarah, but not directly applicable here.

As the guys mention in their video, they’re running the bus off of vegetable oil discarded from restaurants. Technically it’s not biodiesel, which â€” as mentioned in your link â€” is often made from palm oil.

There’s a place for debates over the lobbying role of subsidized United States agribusiness, the environmental effects of spraying and growing enormous crops of inefficient but politically favored corn, and so on.

I’d hate to see anyone walk away from this thread ...

In the new year, our organisation, Public Achievement are moving into new offices in Belfast’s City Centre – actually in the new ‘Cathedral Arts Quarter’ up-and-coming funky part of town. We are moving because our existing building is in a terrible state and the owner won’t get it fixed, but we are excited about the move.
