For starters, in the photo above, I'm actually the one being thrown... such is life.

I decided to be a Rethos journalist because I like things; green things that hippies hug, blue things that sailors cross, and many things with scales or legs (or both, I suppose). I even like several things with neither scales NOR legs, but which wiggle and squirm. If you get a minute, take a look at some of my articles down there at the bottom. If you don't have a job (or like to pretend you don't) and have bunches of free minutes just lying about, take another one and leave me a spoonful of your opinion.


That said, I'll say this: Well hello. I'm a part-time chemistry major, and a full-time carpenter. A buddhist, vegan, and a martial arts practitioner. Jujitsuka, aikidoka, kenjutsuka, kendoka. Big music fan, and very eclectic, though my favorite bads are Tool and NIN. I listen to jazz on NPR and Classical, Bossa Nova, and Reggae on my record player. I've built every piece of furniture I own, down to my finchs' cage, and almost none of it was made from wood that I didn't pick up out of construction dumpsters. I read extensively, and would not consider a life spent reading a wasted one. I keep orchids and bromeliads in planters that I've built, and I really think I ought to get a frog or a squirrel... or both. I can make mushrooms EVERY way, and they are one of the best creations on the planet. I like pumpkins. I draw everything in the oddest ways, and make very intricate practice weaponry, such as spears and bokkens. I recycled most the components for them. Oh, my name is Bill. And also, the nickname 'Bill the Destroyer' was given to me, not because I'm particularly tough, but because I used to be damned clumsy.
