I want to live with as much passion and dedication as is possible for me. I want to see school children in classes that aren't twice what they should be. All children learn better when they have a breakfast each morning; if that is not possible for them to get at home, then we (the parents, grandparents, community) need to involve ourselves to find out the WHYS of such an obstacle. More IMPORTANTLY, we need to inspire ourselves to overcome any obstacle that threatens the future of humankind. Good health care and nutrition are mandatory benchmarks for the "wealthiest country on the planet."
Personally I love to walk the beaches -- just about anytime, also some of the beautiful Botanical Gardens in this beautiful sweetness of Southern Calif. (DRY though it now is!) Water exercise, short hikes in, around and through Nature. I am a planet Earth advocate. I'd love to get involved in some type of horse exercise/experience --I feel a great affinity for these beautiful creatures. For the first time in a long while I can go out to dinner and have just about anything I want; and let me tell you that is so GRAND!!
I don't see how this home, planet Earth, can work well for all its inhabitants until every human being being has the basic supports framework of life (you can't learn if your tummy is making noises and your brain is too fuzzy with trying to wake up). There are refugees mounting daily and yet the lead new story for the evenings news will be right along the lines of some celebrity breaking bonds with her court arranged judge. We are losing the Values and traditions that this country is founded upon. WAKE UP!`
Why does the greatest nation on the planet not have a Universal Health Care System -- no one should be deprived of the necessary medical care to live a life
that lets them be a part of that illusionary "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." This Democracy was founded on high ideals, guarded by a set of checks and balances in our government structure (that is now a joke). The Revolutionary War may have been fought in 1776 (by an impassioned people who sacrificed everything to have what we are just ready to GIVE AWAY!!!!!) I can only hope that this experiment in Freedom, "of the people, by the people and for the people" will not perish from this Earth; rather it will lead, protect and inspire every individual in that now legendary Promise of the Constitution of the United States of America.
I believe in the Bill of Rights for every man, woman and child upon this earth. I want to find a way to utilize what strengths and energy I have to bring into manifestation, what is really so simple an idea -- We must get serious about those problems we think we won't have to face in our lifetime: lack of oil, energy, the rising COSTS OF EVERYTHING. It's not getting better, it's getting worse. I feel I must call it as I experience it. We need to seed, weed and feed, through cultivation and then work in partnership with new technology (that doesn't threaten our foods or desecrate our environment); enabling the best of all that is possible by beginning at the grass roots level. Every time I go to the grocery store, prices have risen...not just a few cents here and there; but by as much as 50% or more in as little as a week! Get realistic! Most children (and some adults too) believe that their food, donuts come from one of the major supermarkets in town! And I want to get kids (those wandering the street with no aim or purpose or feelings of being useful or needed) to get their hands in the soil. Few experiences give me as much joy as working a plot of land, readying it for a new garden. Kids need this knowledge and they could gain real skills and "how to" by being in such a program. After all, we don't know what kind of world they are going to be faced with (though the leading indicators look very bleak, I want to see this fatigue of the human spirit overcome). I daresay that the majority of people who watched television coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath of Americans waiting for 5 days before getting drinkable water, would have ever believed that anything so outrageous could begin to touch this country. We need to get in touch with who we are, what we do truly believe in and what we are willing to do to make the changes that are necessary for America to rise to her legendary grandeur.
